WINTER / SPRING TERM 2009 begins 6th January

conductor/music director Nicola Thomas : sectional coaches - strings  - Harry Cawood : Wind  - Chris Gillatt

Members are encouraged to attend rehearsals at Rhosygilwen on Tuesday evenings regularly from 6.30 - 8.30 pm if possible.

Subscriptions for members £22 per 6 week half term paid on the first day of each half term to the treasurer.

New members will be entitiled to 2 free sessions instead of an audition before being offered membership by the director.

Conductor

Nicola Thomas
Music Director & Conductor of the orchestra since 2005. Cellist with the Archduke Piano Trio of London. Nicola studied at Chethams Music School as a child and the Royal Northern College of Music with Wiliam Pleeth where she won scholarships to study with Ralph Kirschbaum & Jacqueline du Pre. Angharad Williams - studied with Harry Cawood & Suzanne Stanzeleit  at RWCMD, regularly plays with chamber groups. Runs a substantial private teaching paractise in the area. Graduate of RWCMD.

 

Aelfwyn Shipton  - studied at RWCMD with Harry Cawood & training to become a music teacher. Graduate f RWCMD.
Ruth Nic-an-Eanaigh - Studied with Ruxandra Petcu at  the Cork School of Music, Ireland. Graduate of Cork Music School.

Kate Fitzgibbon - amateur musician.

Mary Bolwell - Amateur musician  & studied music as a child in Galway & Dublin, regularly plays in chamber groups.

Adrian Batten - Amateur musician & studied violin up to grade 8 as a child & regularly plays in chamber groups

Chris Gillatt - professional music teacher.
Joined the army as a musician and studied woodwind instruments at the world famous Royal Millitary School of Music, Kneller Hall, Twickenham, with Professor Paul Harvey. Currently works as a peripatetic music teacher with the Pembrokeshire Music Services having left the army after 24 years.
