Information about the Teifi Chamber Orchestra
Teifi Chamber Orchestra is a group of local musicians with a passionate interest in orchestral chamber music. The group meets every week to study in depth, with coach/conductor Nicola Thomas, some of the works of the great composers from the Baroque, Classical and Early Romantic periods, as well as contemporary works by Welsh composers.

Teifi Chamber OrchestraThe Orchestra was founded in October 2004 and is a constituted voluntary organisation.

In January 2005 T.C.O. engaged the professional services of music director Nicola Thomas, herself a resident of the area. Nicola is a professional cellist with the Archduke Piano Trio of London, as well as a highly regarded and inspired chamber musician who has worked with some of the world's foremost ensembles and orchestras. Nicola brings a wealth of professional experience to the orchestra every week which is reflected in the playing.

The Teifi orchestra set up a chamber music summer school in 2007 in collaboration with the Archduke Piano Trio of London and the owners of Rhosygilwen Centre for the Arts. This annual summer school takes place every year in August, applications are open from January - May,  only 30 places are available each year. Some bursary funding is also available for a number of outstanding young musicians every year.

Teifi Chamber Orchestra also welcomes interested new members, please see events page for further details on how to join, or for information on term timetables and concerts.
